This article is not for people who have Acrophobia, or fear of heights for we are talking about one of Forbes Magazine’s World’s Top Ten Most Unusual Restaurants; the 50-meter high restaurant that is hanging freely in the air from a crane; Dinner in the Sky. Developed by Events in the Sky, this is for people who want something new and not just an ordinary restaurant with four walls and a solid floor. Carrying the restaurant’s promotional line of exclusivity and safety, just a single meal into this majestic restaurant will surely be a very memorable experience for anyone who tries it. The catch here is that, though they are based in Belgium, the said hanging restaurant can be driven anywhere in the world. Some of the few countries where they have landed are Paris and Brussels, and next on their list are New York and Niagara Falls. For £10,000, they can drive you all over Britain while hosting your own sky party. As long as there is a 500-m² surface, the hanging restaurant is possible.
The said restaurant is available for eight hours but can be divided according to client’s needs. This can accommodate 22 people around the table including three staffs in the middle; the chef, a waiter and an entertainer. Therefore, if they would divide the eight hours in to 2 sessions per hour, they will be able to accommodate 350 people in one day. They may have an additional crane with a platform, but this is intended only for entertainment purposes such as music or presentations. It also features an underneath banner that can be customized according to customer’s preferences.
The chairs in here are said to look like racing car seats and are attached to the table together with a safety cable made of steel. While the table, which weighs nine tons, is made from heavy-duty plastic on a metal superstructure. Fascinating isn’t it? So if you have the guts, and of course, the money for this kind of eating adventure, we highly suggest that you to try and taste not just the food, but the unique experience you will have from this.
